here i am, finally getting around to blogging another wedding! fall and winter wedding season kicked my ass, so february down-time is for blogging. and this nasty, rainy, cold weather is making me miss the perfection that is october in the south. this october wedding from last year was full of so much fun and (literal) games. mario kart at the reception and a lite-brite sign? yes please.
andrea found me through our mutual friend, jomaree (who also happens to be one of my past boudoir AND grad clients!) and emailed me to meet up. she is a wonderful human being, so bubbly and bright and smart. she is a certified yoga instructor, knows her way around craft beer, loves her pugs, and runs shit over at UGA as a creative design specialist. stuart is 100% her match - i’ve rarely seen two people in love who also make such excellent best friends. they had one of the most fun and laid-back weddings i’ve ever been to, and if you know me, you know how important it is that a wedding is relaxed. take a look below for some awesome inspiration!
isn’t their wedding hashtag the cutest thing? their last name is piazza so they really went with the whole theme… you’ll see more below!
instead of doing a first look with her fiance stuart, andrea opted to do a first look with her dad and brother, which was about the sweetest thing i’ve ever seen.
there were definite tears on my part.
poor andrea, the wind was so bad that day that her veil kept getting got on chairs and concrete and guests’ faces as she walked down the aisle. it definitely fit the couple though - everyone was laughing and relaxed, which is completely the vibe i get from stuart and andrea.
man, i LOVED that moment.
peep their names up there on the marquee sign!
i thought it was so funny that andrea (and all of her bridesmaids too) kept their apple watches on for the day. a girl after my own heart!
i really loved all the deep autumn colors in andrea’s bouquet! it was so perfectly wild.
the reception was full of fun little things that are unique to stuart and andrea’s relationship. they went the extra mile to include everyone and really made it an occasion for all ages. and of course the foundry is the best backdrop for such an event!
the gold dinosaur table centerpieces made me SO happy. andrea made them herself and they were easily my favorite wedding decorations of the year.
i told you the pizza thing would come back later… because of their last name (piazza), pizza was a huge themed joke of the evening. stuart’s mom and sister made this incredible cookie cake by hand and decorated it as a pizza, complete with white “cheese” sprinkles and fruit roll-up “pepperonis”. they even had this pizza cutter for it.
one of my favorite parts of the reception was the wii they had set up with mario kart queued and ready to play. so unique to the couple, added another layer of fun to the party, and great for the kids (and adults, let’s be real).
i am so unbelievably thankful for the clients i have, and stuart + andrea were no exception (and maybe some of my faves shhh don’t tell anyone). their love is so, for lack of a better word, FUN. it’s full of joy and spark and best-friendship. and their wedding absolutely reflected that.
